A Chance for Education in Senegal

Background: CEM Diery Fall high school is located in Bambey, Senegal and was established in 2007 to welcome a number of high school students from the surrounding villages. The school has 1,190 students (composed of 602 girls and 488 boys).

Description: The CEM PTA wanted to renovate all the classrooms and bathrooms in the school. Many of these facilities were not operational because they had fallen into disrepair.

Assessment: By funding this project, the Thomas Foundation would contribute to the improvement in the students' performance and increase attendance rates among girls.
