Maryam Arif

Director, Grants and Operations

Maryam Arif works as the Director of Grants and Operations for the foundation. In this role, she is responsible for the overall affairs of the foundation relating to its governance, grant making, global operations, and investments.

Prior to joining the Thomas Foundation, Maryam worked with Open Society Foundations as a research partner, and a resident fellow in Pakistan, where she was responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the legal empowerment, and clinical legal education programs, and helping set up law clinics around the country. 

Maryam earned a Juris Doctor degree from the City University of New York School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Boston University. In her spare time she enjoys reading, writing and traveling.
